Manager, Information Services
Report to the Associate Director of Finance with the full responsibility of managing a
newly consolidated Institutional Support Services IT department (ISS/IT) that oversees thehardware, software, application, data and user support for 12 large multifaceted departmentsacross the UNM campus. Responsible for the direct supervision of 4 full-time employees and 1student employee to include work allocation, training, performance evaluation, fostering acooperative work environment, and conducting any disciplinary actions. Managementresponsibilities include, but are not limited to: acting as a liaison between UNM IT and ISSdepartment customers, providing customer support for 180+ end users along with all aspects ofinformation systems, and system security.

Major accomplishments to date:
· Developed an ISS/IT Desktop Support Matrix showing the skills and support available toour customers.
· Facilitated the merging of several existing IT departments to form the ISS/IT Departmentby performing team building activities such as: meeting with each new department underour support to ascertain their IT needs.
· Team leader for the enterprising of PPD’s computerized maintenance management
software (TMA) on both main campus and 4 branch campuses.
· Team leader for re-engineering and maintenance of the Physical Plant Department’s web page.

Interim Manager of Work Control
Report to the Director of the Physical Plant Department (PPD) with the full responsibility forthe management and maintenance of the department’s computerized maintenance managementsystem, TMA. The TMA system is used to track labor and materials for all work order relatedservices that the department provides campus wide. Work Control tracks and processes billing toUNM departments on the average of 50,000 per year. Responsible for the direct supervision of 4full-time employees to include, work allocation, training, promotion, performance evaluation,fostering a cooperative work environment, and conducting any disciplinary actions. Managementresponsibilities include: TMA user support and training, installation of website and software
upgrades, close working relationship with UNM IT, knowledge of other UNM departmentaladministrative systems, produce specialized productivity and cost reports, investigates andresolves customer work order issues and assures nightly work order billings to UNM’s financialsystem, SCT Banner.

Major accomplishments included:
· Developed and revised existing Work Control standard operating procedures
· Centralized Work Control Task Force member – implement changes to work control
procedures that were recommended by UNM Internal Audit
· IT/PPD Migration – Work Team Lead for the TMA rebuild
· Successfully built a cohesive centralized work control team that previously was a very
dysfunctional group

Database Administrator
Reported to the Manager of Work Control with full responsibility for the maintenance of thedepartment’s computerized maintenance management system, TMA. The TMA system providescomprehensive data management for all of the maintenance and repair activities for each of PPD’smaintenance, utilities, environmental, energy and finance services divisions.Provided weekly training sessions for the Work Control staff on TMA software changes,shortcuts, and business policy updates. Responsible for all TMA system software upgrades andprovided training for TMA system users. Designed and developed database structures andcustom reports using standard diagramming techniques. Continuously tested and evaluated theOracle database for optimal database performance and maintained development, test andproduction relational database environments. Wrote queries and produced reports based onmanagement’s needs and requirements utilizing MS SQL and MS Access.Upgraded, maintained, and re-wrote PPD’s home website and web-based work order systemusing asp.NET and JavaScript. Served as the technical liaison between PPD and the softwarevendor for all TMA and web page issues.

Utilized computerized maintenance managementsystem, TMA to research and provide statistical reports to solve specific business issues including:amount of response time taken by maintenance technicians to customer’s requests, PPDexpenditures for materials and labor, and productivity reports, which draw from the timekeepingdatabase and the TMA database, to aid in setting budgets for future fiscal years.Continuously trained new and existing users on TMA to include, software changes, new softwaremodules, and/or new procedures pertaining to software updates.






Major accomplishments included:
· Built 70+ computers per project manager specifications for Energy Management Control
Systems. Successfully met deadline of building and installing 20 computers per month inspecified buildings around UNM campus

software to research and provide statistical reports to solve specific business issues including:purchase requisition balances for multiple departments, end of fiscal year statistical informationrequested by management (dollar/hour amounts used on work orders), timekeeping informationneeded by shop manager, daily work order review report providing managers with pertinentinformation, etc.Researched specific end user problems and provided solutions via help desk, such as:connectivity problems experienced by remote software users, provide/remove specific user rights
per management requirements, communicated with software vendor when software bugs/glitchesare discovered.Member of the Energy Management Control Systems team assigned to evaluate various softwaresystems to be implemented for UNM’s energy management and conservation program. Preparedspecifications for firewalls and computer hardware for the software evaluation.Provided monthly training to TMA new and existing users.

Major accomplishments included:
· Successfully implemented the TMA Executive Dashboard. Fully customized
programming code to better fit PPD management needs
· Setup ODBC connection with live database to fully interface with SCT Banner
· Developed and wrote billing interface between the TMA software and SCT Banner
· Developed quality control queries using MS Access to ensure data entry integrity, i.e.:
correct account number is used on work order, validate account codes with SCT Banner
via VPN connection and ensure projects are properly configured with TMA.
· Worked with external vendors to install computers, set firewall policies, and test
connections, for the Energy Management Control System

Member of implementation team for theattending a 2 week training course to become a trainer for software users, determine appropriatedatabase tables to best fit PPD’s needs, input data into appropriate tables, testing application formajor bugs, install software, license files, and Oracle client on server and user computers.Assisted in networking issues and backup and recovery procedures on server for Oracle database.Designed and ran queries per management requests and compiled data for reports using MSAccess. Generated on-going reports for management containing analytical and statistical datausing MS Access.
