POLICIES REVISION
|

Description of the project:
Nine policies, namely, Mobile Policy, Laptop Policy,
Joining Expenses Policy, Transfer Policy, Own Your Car Scheme (OYCS), Leave
Policy, Professional Development Policy, Probation and Notice Period, and
Employee Separation were studied.
The written down policies were compared to the
actual procedures. The loopholes and inconsistencies in policies were
identified. Recommendations were made for the same.

PROJECT 2:
FORMULATION OF RETENTION STRATEIES
|
|
Description of the project:
A survey
was conducted using the questionnaire which was designed. The responses of
40% of employees were captured. Secondary data was also used from the exit
interview forms. Statistical tools were then applied to analyze the data
collected. The results showed the areas where the company is doing well and
where some improvement is required. To bring about improvements, retention
strategies were formulated.

131 exit interview forms for the period
ranging 1st April 2011 to 30th September 2011 were
analyzed using statistical tools. The
areas of improvement were identified and
suggestions were made for the same.

RESEARCH WORK
|
A case titled
“Employee Retention at Jindal Steel & Power Limited” presented at International
Conference on Management Cases (ICMC), 2012. It is jointly organized by BIMTECH,
Birla Institute of Management Technology, Greater Noida (NCR), INDIA and, The
School of Public Policy, George Mason University, Arlington, Virginia (USA).
