Title: Data
acquisition using PCM encoder
Team Size: 6
Role: Project Leader
Organization: D R D L, Hyderabad.
Description:
The PCM Encoder designed is used in the Telemetry System of a missile
located in space. The sensor, which is located on the missile, senses the
health of the missile and transmits it to the earth station. The
transmission of this data is through a
transmitter, which uses PCM for
Encoding. The physical parameters measured by the sensor may be any of the
pressure, temperature, strain, acceleration etc. the data sensed by the
sensor is in the form of both analog and digital for this purpose, an A/D
converter and a parallel to serial converter are followed after this
sensor. The transmitter used is FM transmitter where carrier demodulation
is done by either ASK or FSK or PSK.
The
data to the digital multiplexer is, digital data from the sensor, external
sources and direct digital data. There are control signals to control the
multiplexer and a low pass filter to allow only the desired signals to pass
through and eliminates the noise.
Design: Design of 555timer
using RC components
. Programming: Programming
the EPROM IC using the software LAB TOOL 48.
Implementation: This
project is implemented using many other ics. All the ics mentioned below
are connected on a PCB as per the given circuit.
