PROJECT DETAILS

OBJECTIVE:

I had taken up a project on Biometrics in java for voter identification .The project aims at implementing biometric (finger print) authentication in a typical voting system. It is mainly aimed at preventing frauds caused during elections like re-voting and impersonation. A major issue of the current voter ID card is that the card can still be misused as the card can be duplicated if the details of the voter are known by creating new cards and replacing the photo with a fraudulent photo.
Alternatively the supervisor in the voting booth in concurrence with one of the parties can allow multiple voting to the same person as the electronic voting machine currently available cannot judge the same. Thus a fool proof system which can detect a voter who has already enrolled, and prevent him from voting more than once and also does not allow a person to cast vote in another voter’s name is created with the help of finger print analysis.

PURPOSE:
·        The democracy of the nation is mainly lost due to the mal-practices caused during voting sessions.
·        Voting is the highest privilege given to a citizen, but when it is misused by anti-social elements it causes lot of chaos and unjust.
·        To prevent mal-practices like this we have chosen a fool proof voting system
CONCLUSION:
The main aim of this software is to prevent malpractices in voting system. This aim is achieved and can also be implemented in real time. The software developed is both efficient as well as effective.
