working as a Graduate engineer trainee in Rajashree cements unit of GRASIM industries
OF ADITYA BIRLA GROUP. Presently looking after the maintenance of Cement mill equipment’s like Cement mill,
Compressors,Gearboxes,Conveyors,ESP’s, Dust Collectors, Roller Press,
Separators, Bucket elevators, fly ash Handling systems. Also principally
accountable for the following activities
1. Plant availability:
Supervise & coordinate all
the mechanical activities of cement plant to maximise the plant availability to
achieve continuous production as per targets

Take plant rounds /study check list daily and
identify problems.
·
Scheduling of weekly major shutdowns and regular
maintenance activities.
·
Supervise of maintenance activities.
·
Analyze breakdowns
·
Take corrective and preventive actions.
·
Organize manpower & material required.
·
Prepare indent & follow-up for material.
·
Coordinate for condition monitoring activities
of critical equipments.
·
Coordinate with other departments for jobs.
2. Plant operation:
Plan, organize
,monitor and review activities for optimum plant availability as per the
targets as per market requirement and satisfaction of both internal &
external customer. Monitor preventive maintenance schedule for implementation.

Review the weekly / maintenance plans.
·
Analyze major breakdowns and plan corrective
actions..
3. Cost
Control:
Plan,
Monitor & Control material,
lubricant, Inventory and manpower cost as per budget maintenance activities in
order to optimise maintenance costs.
·
Prepare budget based on past data and future
targets.
·
Check consumption pattern equipment-wise with
respect to budget.
·
Take corrective actions.
·
Carryout Why-Why analysis.
·
Arrange manpower requirement in coordination
with other section to control overtime & contractor cost.
·
Monitor the indents / inventory
·
Mechanise / improve handling system of
materials.
Propose changes /
modification for attending leakages
4. Systems:
Ensure
implementation of ISO-9000:2000, EMS-14001, OHSAS-18001, SA-8000 & WCM (World
Class Manufacturing-TPM Culture) systems through the involvement of employees
for improving plant performance and quality standards.
