Project
Profile
The
main aim of the project is to develop a database driver which can be invoked
over remotely from client machines across the platforms. In existing system
each client requires the database driver to be present locally our solution is
completely eliminating it. The driver we are planning to develop will be running
in middle ware server. The clients which would like to connect to different
databases will contact the middle ware database driver using RPC (Remote
Procedure Call). In middle ware server an RMI registry will be running on stand
alone port. The client will be looking for the middle ware will load the actual
database driver according to the lookup. This is very much needed for
applications running in one type of platform querying databases running in
different platforms. It also need for procuring and configuring client software
i.e. database drivers in the client machines are completely avoided. This is
very much desired since it will save money and time.
